MapOps Expansion Workspace — User Guide

This guide explains **how to use the dashboard** as a leadership user, sales manager, or field rep. It assumes you are working in a configured workspace (e.g. the Illawarra or Newcastle demo).

**Open a workspace:** `/dashboard/demo-workspace` (or your client-specific URL).

---

What you see on screen

The workspace has two main areas:

1. **Map (left / main)** — Interactive territory map with layers you can turn on and off.

2. **Insights panel (right)** — Tabs for decisions, rankings, territory building, and field sales.

At the top of the header you will see:

---

Scoring modes

Choose the mode that matches your question:

ModeWhen to use it
**Greenfield**You are expanding into **new** territory. Ranking emphasises commercial density, climate demand, and competitive white space. Customer history is optional.
**Penetration**You want to **grow share** where you already work. Ranking emphasises existing customer evidence, market headroom, and where to deepen coverage.

Upload customer data (see below) before using Penetration mode for best results.

---

Dashboard tabs

Executive

Your **expansion decision at a glance**:

When you select suburbs on the map, the executive view updates to reflect **your territory** instead of the default recommendation.

---

Market ranking

A sortable list of every scored area (SA2) in the region.

**Click any row** to open a **full area profile**: census income, ERP population and growth, climate, building approvals, commercial segments, score breakdown, and “why this score” explanations.

Use this tab to compare suburbs before committing to a trial territory.

---

Territory builder

Design and test a **90-day expansion footprint**.

**Select areas on the map** (or use suggested expansion candidates) to build your territory. The panel shows:

**Start territory trial** — captures a Day 0 snapshot for later comparison on the Performance tab.

**Rep mode:** this tab becomes **Field map** — full street map focused on your call area.

---

Field sales

Tools for **leaders and reps** to run outreach.

**Leaders:**

**Reps:**

**Rep mode:** this tab becomes **My calls**.

---

CRM blueprint

Prepare your CRM and connect live sync:

- **Pull customers** — import job history into the workspace for scoring

- **Push leads** — send ranked targets to your CRM as deals

- **Poll CRM status** — refresh outreach status from CRM without waiting for webhooks

- **Webhook URL** — shown after connect; gives CRM → MapOps status updates when reps move deals

---

Targets & partners

Referral partners and strategic accounts (where configured for the region). Export partner lists as CSV for outreach tracking.

---

90-day plan

Structured rollout checklist:

Use alongside the Performance tab at the end of a trial.

---

Performance

Answer: **Did this territory earn more investment?**

Requires starting a territory trial from the Territory builder tab.

---

Map layers

Open the **layer panel** on the map to toggle data overlays.

Common layers:

LayerWhat it shows
SA2 boundariesScoring geography
OSM businessesNamed commercial points (coloured by outreach status when assigned)
Income / dwellings / ERP populationChoropleth from census and ERP
ERP growthYear-on-year population change
Climate (heating / cooling)Seasonal demand proxy
Building approvalsRecent development activity
CRM revenue / conversionYour uploaded customer rollups (after import)
PenetrationWhere you already have customers vs market size
Trade competitorsHVAC / trade tagged in OSM

Layer availability depends on what has been ingested for your region.

---

Uploading customer data

1. Open **Market ranking** or the customer upload section (when visible in your workspace).

2. Choose a **CSV** with at least a service **address** column.

3. Map columns (address, revenue, job date, service type, status, lead source, margin).

4. Run import — addresses are geocoded and matched to areas (up to 500 rows per batch).

5. Switch to **Penetration** scoring mode to see ranking and penetration layers update.

Customer addresses are stored securely; map views use aggregated area stats by default.

---

Launch depot

Change the **depot** in the header to recalculate:

Each region has predefined depots (e.g. Moss Vale, Wollongong). Client workspaces can add custom depots during configuration.

---

Prospect proof pages

From the ranked call list, open a **proof link** for a target area. This opens a **prospect-facing page** (`/proof/...`) with local market context — useful on sales calls or as a leave-behind.
